Everpure Announces Major
Filtration Technology Advancement
Automatic Flushing System Provides Long
Life, Less Frequent Cartridge Changes
HANOVER
PARK, ILLINOIS (May 21, 2005) — Everpure
is pleased to announce a new filtration
system that provides high capacity and high
flow rates even in high silt water areas.
The key component is a new programmable
automatic flushing device that strips all
solids as small as .015 micron out of the
water and flushes these particles to drain
before reaching the activated carbon filters.
This prevents the system from prematurely
plugging before reaching the systems rated
capacity.
The HSD 440 system utilizes a semi-permanent
membrane prefiltration cartridge, estimated
to operate for 2-3 years before requiring
replacement. The system works by forcing
water through microscopic pores inside the
filter cartridge membrane. Silt, bacteria
and extremely small solids found in water
and sediment get trapped, removed from the
water, and then flushed down the drain.
During its self cleaning cycle the HSD
440 system is not taken off-line, and delivers
a steady supply of filtered water. It’s
set to flush for 15 seconds every hour,
but can easily be reprogrammed to different
flush durations and intervals. In this way,
foodservice operators can fine tune the
HSD 440 operation to match their specific
water conditions.
The HSD 440 is available in a total system
configuration rated for 90,000 gallons or
120,000 gallons for chlorine, particulate,
turbidity, and cyst reduction. It is also
easily retrofitted to existing Everpure
systems.
Interested operators should perform a SDI
(Silt Density Index) test before installation,
unless they have a history with high density
silt in their area. For more details, contact
your local Everpure Distributor.
